Graphic Design

At the Booth Art Academy, I started designing the marketing materials for the Academy and fell in love with the combination of technology and art. I designed logos, printed materials, and T-shirts on a contracted basis for charitable organizations, friends, and family and worked at A New Dimension as a Graphic Designer from 2018 – 2019. At A New Dimension I designed business cards, logos, flyers, brochures, catalogues, and other printed materials.

During my public school experience, I really enjoyed teaching a graphic design unit that introduced students to the programs and principles used in graphic design. Students would work in Flip-a-Clip, Ibis Paint, Procreate, 3-D Paint, Sketchpad IO, Tinker Cad, and Publisher.

I am experienced with using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Coreldraw, Wordpress, PowerPoint, Flip-a-Clip, Ibis Paint, Procreate, 3-D Paint, Publisher, Word, Excel, and Canva.

Being creative is a way of life for me. I enjoy challenging myself and learning new artforms whenever I can carve out space. When I was in college, I had a potter’s wheel in the basement of my dorm that I taught myself to throw pottery on. I was always interested in learning new artforms or enhancing my artistic skill and took classes in pottery, jewelry, oil painting, mosaic, drawing, front page, silver clay, and many more.  

At the Science and Art Center my creativity really got ignited when I took my mater’s program in creative arts in learning. This program brought my art and teaching to a new level.  Now I have the pleasure of teaching art and creating art.

In 2017, I got the great opportunity to paint a mural at the Cartersville library.  I worked with the donor to create a mural that celebrated and memorialized her mother who had been a former librarian.  This opportunity was an honor and a wonderful experience.

If I had to pick a couple of my favorite artforms, I would say I love to create mixed media art, drawings, paintings, pottery, jewelry, and refinished furniture.
